Lakeview Action Coalition Convention was held on June 16, 2008 at 7:00PM at Anshe Emet Synagogue, 3751 N Broadway. Thanks to all who helped in making the Convention a success!

Read about our accomplishments here.

The Lakeview Action Coalition (LAC) is a non-profit, multi-issue community organization. The Coalition is made up of 40 institutional members, including religious congregations, non-profit agencies, banks, business associations, a credit union and a senior citizens caucus. These diverse institutions are stakeholders in the Chicago communities of Lakeview and North Center.

LAC enables its members to act on their values in public life by participating in the decisions that shape our community s future. We fulfill this mission by organizing people around issues affecting our members and by developing leaders through training, action and reflection. Since our founding in 1993, we have stood for justice, solidarity and diversity.

LAC is funded by its member institutions, foundations and other donors and by earned income. Members pay substantial dues in order to provide local, independent funding.

Recognizing that Lakeview is part of a larger city and region, LAC in 1997 became a founding member of United Power for Action and Justice, an organization of organizations across metropolitan Chicago.
